We have all been thinking, “enough already with the rain!” But in all seriousness, I am grateful for the lush green grass, the beautiful flowers and the lessened threat of summer drought and fires. As we move into the summer months, we invite you set aside some “down time” to grow in spirit with us. Summer offers the opportunity to slow down, spend time in nature, to reflect on your most deeply held values and nurture the relationships that are most important in your life.
Our annual Flower Communion services will take place on Sunday, June 7th. This beautiful service symbolizes the promise of our shared community and will be our last Sunday of two services (9:00am & 11:00am) until September. During the summer months we will have a single church service at 9:30 am. Our Summer Services will feature a series of guest Unitarian Universalist Ministers from around our region, and our own Associate Minister Gretchen Haley. Our new Interim Senior Minister, Rev. Howell Lind, will join us in August.
New this summer…we will offer short, thirty minute, Religious Exploration sessions for adults after every Sunday service. First and third Sundays our “Going Deeper” sessions, will feature topics of interest to newcomers and those wanting to explore Unitarian Universalism and our church more deeply. Second and fourth Sundays, our “Spiritual Sampler” sessions will offer a brief experience with a spiritual practice – yoga, chant, drumming, and more. Our goal for these summer sessions is to offer programs for the many visitors we see over the summer and to provide more tools for our shared search for truth and meaning.
We look forward to seeing you this summer
Eleanor VanDeusen – Director of Religious Exploration
